Inspection Procedure

NOTE:
When the seat belt control ECU is replaced with a new one, Initialization must be performed (See INITIALIZATION
).
- INSPECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
- Disconnect the P8 connector of the front seat outer belt assembly RH
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below
Standard Resistance
STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition P8-1 - P8-2 Always Below 1 MΩ
NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (See COMPONENTS )
OK: Go to next Step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH - SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminalCAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
- Disconnect the Q38 connector of the seat belt control ECU.
- Using SST, connect P8-1 and P8-2 of the wire harness connector for the front seat outer belt assembly RH.NOTE: Do not forcibly insert SST into the terminals of the connector.

- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

OK: REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU (See SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU )
- Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal
