Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT BATTERY 
    1. Check the battery voltage.

      Standard Voltage: 11 to 14 V 

    NG: RECHARGE OR REPLACE BATTERY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT FUSE (ECU-IG LH) 
    1. Remove the ECU-IG LH fuse from the cowl side junction block LH
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      ECU-IG LH Fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER 
    1. Remove the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver with the connectors being connected
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      J49-1 (IG) - J49-6 (GND) Engine switch on (IG) 10 to 16 V

    NG: Go to step 4 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER) 
    1. Disconnect the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver J49 connector
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      J49-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 10 to 16 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver J49 connector
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J49-6 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU AND RECEIVER  (See REMOVAL  )
