Steering Gear: Inspection

INSPECT TOTAL PRELOAD
1. Temporarily install the left and right steering rack ends to prevent steering rack overstroke.
2. Using SST and a torque wrench, inspect preload.
  SST 09616-00011
  
  Preload (turning):
  
  1.0 to 2.0 N*m (10 to 20 kgf*cm, 9 to 18 in.*lbf)
  
  HINT.
  
  If the preload is not as specified, replace the power steering gear assembly.
