Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT SATELLITE SWITCH (CLEARANCE SONAR MAIN SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the satellite switch (clearance sonar main switch).
    2. Disconnect the satellite switch (clearance sonar main switch) connector
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J16-2 (LSFT) - J16-5 (E) Satellite switch LH is pressed Below 1 Ω
      J16-2 (LSFT) - J16-5 (E) Satellite switch LH is not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      J16-3 (SET) - J16-5 (E) Satellite switch ON/OFF is pressed Below 1 Ω
      J16-3 (SET) - J16-5 (E) Satellite switch ON/OFF is not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      J16-4 (RSEL) - J16-5 (E) Satellite switch RH is pressed Below 1 Ω
      J16-4 (RSEL) - J16-5 (E) Satellite switch RH is not pressed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPLACE SATELLITE SWITCH (CLEARANCE SONAR MAIN SWITCH)  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - SATELLITE SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J35-6 (LSEL) - J16-2 (LSFT) Always Below 1 Ω
      J35-7 (SET) - J16-3 (SET) Always Below 1 Ω
      J35-5 (RSEL) - J16-4 (RSEL) Always Below 1 Ω
      J16-5 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      J35-6 (LSEL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J35-7 (SET) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J35-5 (RSEL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )
