WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Lexus IS F. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The meter CPU uses the engine oil temperature sensor to determine the temperature of the engine oil. The resistance of the engine oil temperature sensor will vary between approximately 30 kΩ or higher with the engine oil temperature is 0°C (32°F), and 0.3 kΩ, with the engine oil temperature is 155°C (311°F) Voltage measured at this point will vary as the engine temperature is changed.

The engine oil temperature gauge displays the engine oil temperature using seven bars The meter CPU calculates the engine oil temperature based on signals from the engine oil temperature sensor via the direct line. When the engine oil temperature becomes 140°C (284°F) or higher, all the bar blinks and the warning message is displayed in the multi-information display.
