Fuel Sender Gauge Assembly: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the fuel sender gauge connector
    2. Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly.
      1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly
      2. Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E
      3. Measure the resistance between terminals 2 (S) and 1 (FE) of the connector according to the value(s) in the table below

        Standard Resistance 

        RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

        Float Level Resistance (Ω)
        F 6.5 to 8.5
        Between E and F 6.5 to 229.6 (Gradually changes)
        E 224.6 to 229 6

        HINT.

        If the value is not as specified, replace the fuel sender gauge assembly LH

  2. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE 
    1. Disconnect the fuel sender gauge connector
    2. Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly
      1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly.
      2. Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E
      3. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 (FS) and 2 (E) according to the value(s) in the table below

        Standard Resistance 

        RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

        Float Level Resistance (Ω)
        F 6.5 to 8 5
        Between E and F 6.5 to 184.9 (Gradually changes)
        E 180.9 to 184 9

        HINT

        If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel sender gauge assembly RH
