Section 25 (Starting): Starter: Removal

  1. REMOVE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION See  REMOVAL  . 
  2. REMOVE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE NO. 3 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 3 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

  7. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the 11 claws and remove the terminal upper cover

    2. Disconnect the starter connector.
    3. Remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts and starter assembly

    5. Remove the nut and terminal lower cover.

    6. Remove the flywheel housing side cover.
