Inspection Procedure
HINT
Check the connector connection to the terminal to make sure that there is no abnormally such as a loose connection, deformations etc
- CHECK FOR DTC
- Clear the DTC (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM )
- Check for DTC
Result
RESULT REFERENCEDisplay (DTC output) Proceed to "DTC B2285" only A "DTC B2287" and/or "DTC 2785" B No DTC C
B: GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART (B2287 AND/OR B2785) (See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART )
C: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )
A: Go to next Step
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3
- Turn the engine switch on (IG)
- Check the Data List for proper functioning of the steering lock function
Power Source Control
ITEM RANGE REFERENCETester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Steering Unlock Switch Steering lock condition / ON or OFF ON Steering is unlocked (Engine switch on (ACC))
OFF Steering is locked (Engine switch off)- OK: ON (steering is unlocked) and OFF (steering is locked) appear on the screen.
NG: Go to step 3
OK: REPLACE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU - STEERING LOCK ECU)
- Disconnect the J55 connector from the power source control ECU
- Disconnect the J29 connector from the steering lock ECU
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
RESISTANCE REFERENCETester Connection Condition Specified Condition J55-26 (SLP) - J29-4 (SLP1) Always Below 1 Ω J55-26 (SLP) or J29-4 (SLP1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU - STEERING LOCK ECU)
OK: Go to next Step
- REPLACE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU
- Replace power source control ECU.
- CHECK FOR DTC
- Clear the DTC (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM )
- Check for DTCs
OK: DTC B2285 is not output.
NG: REPLACE STEERING LOCK ECU (See DISASSEMBLY )
OK: END (POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU IS DEFECTIVE)
