DTC P0715: Input / Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction; DTC P0717: Input Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal: Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Lexus IS F. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The speed sensor (NT) detects the input shaft rotation speed and sends it to the TCM

Based on the transmission speed sensor (NT) signal and the transmission speed sensor (NC3 and SP2) signal, the TCM controls engine torque and shift timing Also, based on the input shaft rotation speed and the engine rpm signal, lock-up control is performed.
