Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG)
    3. Turn the Techstream on
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body No 5 / Active Test
    5. Check the operation.

      Body No. 5 (Front Controller) 

      ACTIVE TEST - BODY NO. 5 (FRONT CONTROLLER)

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Front Fog Light Relay Front fog light relay ON/OFF -

      OK: Fog lights illuminate. 

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  )

  2. INSPECT FUSE (FR FOG) 
    1. Remove the FR FOG fuse from the No. 2 engine room relay block.
    2. Measure the resistance of the fuse.

      Standard Resistance: 

      Below 1 Ω 

    NG: REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CONTROLLER - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the 2E front controller connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2E-1 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next Step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CONTROLLER - FOG LIGHT) 
    1. Check the wire harness between the front fog light LH and front controller, and the front fog light LH and body ground
      1. Disconnect the 2G front controller connector
      2. Disconnect the B13 fog light connector.
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance 

        STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        2G-7 - B13-2 Always Below 1 Ω
        2G-7 or B13-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        B13-1- Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    2. Check the wire harness between the front fog light RH and No. 2 engine room relay block, and the front fog light RH and body ground.
      1. Disconnect the 2G front controller connector.
      2. Disconnect the B1 fog light connector.
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance 

        STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        2G-6 - B1-2 Always Below 1 Ω
        2G-6 or B1-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        B1-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE FRONT CONTROLLER (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)
