Inspection Procedure

- CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING .
If the multiplex communication system is operating normally, proceed to the next step
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test
- Check the operation
Combination Meter
ACTIVE TEST - COMBINATION METERTester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Indicate AFS AFS ON/OFF indicator light ON/OFF - OK: AFS ON/OFF indicator comes on.
NG: GO TO COMBINATION METER SYSTEM (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
OK: Go to next Step
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Turn the clearance sonar main switch on
- Enter the following menus. Body Electrical / AFS / Data List.
- Read the display on the Techstream

OFF AFS OFF- OK: Normal conditions listed above are displayed.
NG: Go to step 4
OK: REPLACE AFS ECU (See AFS ECU )
- CHECK SATELLITE SWITCH
- By using the satellite switch (RH switch, ON/OFF switch, LH switch), check the AFS ON/OFF indicator comes on (See

OK: AFS ON/OFF indicator comes on.
NG: GO TO COMBINATION METER SYSTEM (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
