Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Lexus IS 350. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

HINT:

Read freeze frame data using Techstream. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can be helpful in determining whether the vehicle was running or stopped, whether the engine was warmed up or not, whether the air/fuel ratio was lean or rich, as well as other data recorded at the time of a malfunction (See WIRING DIAGRAM ).

  1. PERFORM SIMULATION TEST
    1. Clear the DTC(s) (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
    2. Change the arrangement of the ignition coils (with igniters).
NOTE: Do not change the location of the connectors.
    3. Reform a simulation test.
