Section 176 (Engine Control System (2GR-FSE) - System And Component Testing, On-Vehicle Inspection, Removal, Inspection & Installation): ECM: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE ECM COVER 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and ECM cover.
      NOTE:
      • Remove all water on and around the ECM cover.
      • Perform the inspection indoors to avoid rain.
      • Be sure to prevent water intrusion to the ECM (connectors and screw parts).

  5. REMOVE ECM 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connectors.
      1. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the connector holder.
      2. Disconnect the 6 ECM connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and ECM.
