Inspection Procedure

HINT.

  1. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY (RESISTANCE OF THROTTLE ACTUATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the throttle body connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (M+) -1 (M-) 20°C (68°F) 0.3 to 100 Ω
    3. Reconnect the throttle body connector

    NG: REPLACE THROTTLE BODY  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (THROTTLE ACTUATOR - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the throttle body connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open) 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E17-2 (M+) - E4-7 (M+) Always Below 1 Ω
      E17-1 (M-) - E4-6(M-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short) 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E17-2 (M+) or E4-7 (M+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E17-1 (M-) or E4-6 (M-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the throttle body connector and ECM connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. REPLACE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace throttle body assembly (See REMOVAL ).
  4. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (THROTTLE ACTIVATOR DTC) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream ON.
    3. Clear DTCs (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR )
    4. Start the engine.
    5. Drive the vehicle several minutes
    6. Enter the following menus. Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    7. Read the DTCs

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P2102 or P2103 is output A
      DTC is not output B

    B: SYSTEM OK 

    A: REPLACE ECM  (See REMOVAL )
