Inspection Procedure

Read freeze frame data using the Techstream The ECM records vehicle and driving condition information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can be helpful in determining whether the vehicle was running or stopped, whether the engine was warmed up or not, whether the air fuel ratio was lean or rich, as well as other data recorded at the time of a malfunction

INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING GEAR ASSEMBLY (BANK 1 OR BANK 2)
1. Turn the engine switch off
2. Remove the camshaft timing control motor (See REMOVAL )
3. Check if the camshaft timing gear assembly eccentric shaft rotates smoothly
  OK: Rotates smoothly

4. Reinstall the camshaft timing control motor
NG: REPLACE CAMSHAFT TIMING GEAR ASSEMBLY (BANK 1 AND/OR BANK 2) (See REMOVAL )

OK: REPLACE CAM TIMING CONTROL WITH EDU MOTOR ASSEMBLY (BANK 1 AND/OR BANK 2) (See REMOVAL )
