Rear Brake Pad, Brake Caliper & Brake Rotor: Disassembly
- REMOVE CALIPER SUPPORT BRACKET
- Remove the caliper support bracket from the rear cylinder assembly.
- REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE BUSHING
- Remove the cylinder slide bushing from the cylinder assembly rear.
- REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE BUSHING DUST BOOT
- Remove the bushing dust boot from the cylinder assembly rear.
- REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE PISTON
- Place a piece of cloth between the piston and the rear cylinder assembly.
- Use compressed air to remove the piston from the rear cylinder assembly.CAUTION: Do not place your fingers in front of the brake piston when using compressed air.NOTE: Do not spatter the brake fluid.
- REMOVE CYLINDER BOOT
- Remove the cylinder boot from the piston or rear cylinder assembly.
- REMOVE PISTON SEAL
- Using a screwdriver, remove the piston seal from the rear cylinder assembly.NOTE: Do not damage the inner cylinder and the cylinder groove.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before using.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the piston seal from the rear cylinder assembly.
- REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG CAP
- REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG
- REMOVE REAR DISC
- Put matchmarks on the rear disc and the axle hub.
- Remove the read disc.
- REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING HOLE PLUG
