Front Brake Pad, Brake Caliper & Brake Rotor: Installation
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
CAUTION:
When the brake caliper is removed from the brake disc, do not start the hybrid system. If the hybrid system is started, the brake fluid pressure may increase.
- INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
- Install the disc brake caliper with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 78 N*m (795 kgf*cm, 57 ft.*lbf)
- Install the disc brake caliper with the 2 bolts.
- CONNECT FRONT BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE
- Connect the flexible hose with the union bolt and a new gasket.
Torque: 39 N*m (400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf)
NOTE: Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the disc brake caliper.
- Connect the flexible hose with the union bolt and a new gasket.
- INSTALL DISC BRAKE PAD KIT FRONT (PAD ONLY)
- Apply disc brake grease to the anti-squeal shims and install them to each pad.

HINT:
Install the clip lock securely in the groove of the pad.
NOTE:- When replacing worn pads, the anti-squeal shims must be replaced together with the pad.
- Install each shim in the correct position and direction.
- There should be no oil or grease on the friction surface of the pads and the disc.
- Apply disc brake grease to the anti-squeal shims and install them to each pad.
- INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-RATTLE SPRING
- INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-RATTLE WITH HOLE PIN
- Install the hole pin while pushing on the anti-rattle spring.
- Install the clip.
- DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL (See BLEEDING )
- FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID (See BLEEDING )
- BLEED AIR FROM FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM (See BLEEDING )
- CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR (See BLEEDING )
- INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK
- INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
- CHECK AND CLEAR DTC
- Check and clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
