Headlight Dimmer Switch: Installation

  1. INSTALL HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the headlight dimmer switch with the claw as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:

      Make sure that the claw is completely engaged.

    2. Install the headlight dimmer switch with the clamp.
    3. Connect the connector.

  2. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH STEERING SENSOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER UPPER  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER LOWER  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH STEERING SENSOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT 
    1. Inspect the steering wheel center point (see INSTALLATION ).
  9. INSTALL STEERING PAD  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER 
  11. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER 
  12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  13. INSPECT STEERING PAD  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  15. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light (see DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).
