Inspection Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC (HV) 
    1. Turn the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    3. Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / HV ECU / DTC INFO / CLEAR CODES.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. RECONFIRM OUTPUT DTC (HV) 
    1. Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / HV ECU / DTC INFO / CURRENT CODES.
    2. Read output DTC. (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR )

      Result: 

      DTC P3107-215 is output again. 

    YES: GO TO step   4 

    NO: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    NEXT: REPLACE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER 

  4. INSPECT HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Connect the oscilloscope to the HV control ECU terminals specified in the table below and check the waveform.
      WAVEFORM SIGNAL REFERENCE

      Item Contents
      Terminals ABFS (H29-8) - E1 (H31-5)
      Equipment Setting 5 V/DIV, 500 ms/DIV
      Condition READY ON

      OK: The waveform appears as shown in the illustration. 

    OK: REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU

    NG: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HV CONTROL ECU - AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the H29 connector to the HV control ECU.
    3. Disconnect the A20 connector from the airbag sensor assembly CTR.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below when the ignition switch is in the ON position.

      Standard voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      ABFS (H29-8) - Body ground Below 1 V
    5. Turn the ignition switch off.
    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for open) 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      ABFS (H29-8) - GSW2 (A20-23) Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for short) 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      ABFS (H29-8) or GSW2 (A20-23) -Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER
