Parking Brake Pedal: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 

    HINT:

    See PRECAUTION

  2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  6. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER OUTER FRONT LH  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER INNER FRONT LH  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  9. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER RH  (See REMOVAL )
  10. REMOVE FRONT LH SEAT ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  11. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST 
    1. Remove the front floor footrest from the floor.
  12. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, and separate the parking brake cable assembly No. 1 from the floor.

    2. Remove the parking brake cable assembly No. 1 from the parking brake equalizer.
    3. Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
    4. Remove the 3 nuts and separate the instrument panel junction block assembly with bracket from the body.
    5. Remove the 3 nuts and parking brake pedal assembly.

  13. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY NO. 1

    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw.
      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the parking brake cable assembly No. 1.

    3. Remove the clip from the parking brake pedal assembly.
    4. Remove the lock nut and parking brake wire adjusting nut No. 1.
