Inspection Procedure
HINT:
The shift solenoid valve SL1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 turns ON/OFF normally when the shift lever is on D:

- Disconnect the E6 and E7 TCM connectors.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance

- REPLACE TCM
- Replace the TCM (see REMOVAL ).
NEXT: PERFORM AT REGISTRATION (See REGISTRATION )
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - TCM)

- Disconnect the E50 transmission wire connector.
- Disconnect the E6 and E7 TCM connectors.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

- INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL1, 2, 3, 4 AND 5

- Remove the shift solenoid valves (see REMOVAL ).
- Measure the resistance of the shift solenoid valves.
Standard resistance
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHARTTester Connection Condition Specified Condition Terminal 1 of the shift solenoid valve SL1 -terminal 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω Terminal 1 of the shift solenoid valve SL2 -terminal 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω Terminal 1 of the shift solenoid valve SL3 -terminal 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω Terminal 1 of the shift solenoid valve SL4 -terminal 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω Terminal 1 of the shift solenoid valve SL5 -terminal 2 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 Ω - Connect the battery's positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating noise.
OK :
Valve moves and makes operating noise.
NG: REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE (See REMOVAL )
OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE (See REMOVAL )
