BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER (for 2GR-FSE): Removal

  1. PRECAUTION 

    (See BRAKE SYSTEM )

  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE (See  FUEL PUMP CONTROL CIRCUIT  ) 
  5. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR TO FRONT SIDE SEAL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  8. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  10. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  11. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  12. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID 
    NOTE: If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, wash or otherwise remove it completely.
  13. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM RELAY NO.3 BLOCK 
    1. Remove the bolt, nut and relay No.3 block.
      NOTE: Cover the relay No.3 block with a shop rag or piece of cloth to prevent brake fluid from adhering to it.

  14. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the warning switch connector.
    2. Using SST, disconnect the 2 brake tubes from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.

      SST 09023-00101

    3. Remove the 2 nuts and brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly.
    4. Remove the O-ring from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.
