On-Vehicle Inspection

INSPECT DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE NOT INVOLVED IN COLLISION)
1. Perform a diagnostic system check (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
2. With the driver side knee airbag assembly installed on the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the driver side knee airbag assembly with a new one:
  Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the driver side knee airbag assembly.

INSPECT DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (VEHICLE INVOLVED IN COLLISION AND AIRBAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED)
1. Perform a diagnostic system check (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
2. With the driver side knee airbag assembly removed from the vehicle, perform a visual check. If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the driver side knee airbag assembly with a new one:
  - Cuts, minute cracks or marked discoloration on the driver side knee airbag assembly.
  - Cracks or other damage to the connector.
  - Deformation or cracks on the instrument panel reinforcement.

  CAUTION: Be sure to follow the correct removal and installation procedures.
