Inspection Procedure

NOTE:
When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION
).
- INSPECT DAC INDICATOR LIGHT
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
- Ground terminal HDCW of the skid control ECU.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Check that the DAC indicator light comes on.
OK: DAC indicator light comes on.
NG: Go to step 2
OK: REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID (SEE OVERHAUL )
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN SKID CONTROL ECU AND COMBINATION METER) (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
)
- Disconnect the combination meter connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TERMINALS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE .
Standard:
TERMINALS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLETester Connection Specified Condition S28-33 (HDCW) - C11-10 Below 1 S28-33 (HDCW) - Body ground 10 k or higher
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY
- Check the combination meter system (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).
NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE COMBINATION METER ASSY )
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (HDCS TERMINAL)
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TERMINALS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE .
Standard:
TERMINALS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLETester Connection Condition Specified Condition S28-44 (HDCS) - Body ground DAC switch is pushed in Below 1
NG: Go to step 5
OK: REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID (See OVERHAUL )
- INSPECT DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SWITCH
- Disconnect the DAC switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TERMINALS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE .
Standard:
TERMINALS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLETester Connection Condition Specified Condition D5-3 - D5-4 Switch is pushed in Below 1 D5-3 - D5-4 Switch is not pushed in 10 k or higher
NG: REPLACE DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SWITCH
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN SKID CONTROL ECU, BODY GROUND AND DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SWITCH) (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
)
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TERMINALS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE .
Standard:
TERMINALS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLETester Connection Specified Condition S28-44 (HDCS) - D5-3 Below 1 S28-44 (HDCS) - Body ground 10 k or higher D5-4 - Body ground Below 1
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: END
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TERMINALS RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION TABLE .
