Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SLT)
    1. Disconnect the transmission wire connector from the transmission.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TRANSMISSION WIRE (SLT) (RESISTANCE)  .

      Standard resistance

      TRANSMISSION WIRE (SLT) (RESISTANCE)

Tester Connection Specified Condition 20°C (68°F)
      13 (SLT+) - 5 (SLT-) 5.0 to 5.6 ohms
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TRANSMISSION WIRE (SLT) (CHECK FOR SHORT)  .

    Standard resistance (Check for short)

TRANSMISSION WIRE (SLT) (CHECK FOR SHORT)

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    13 (SLT+) - Body ground 10 k ohms or higher
    5 (SLT-) - Body ground

    NG: GO TO STEP   3

    OK: Go To Next Step

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM)
    1. Connect the transmission wire connector to the transmission.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM (RESISTANCE)  .

      Standard resistance

      TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM (RESISTANCE)

Tester Connection Specified Condition 20°C (68°F)
      E4-35 (SLT+) - E4-34 (SLT-) 5.0 to 5.6 ohms

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in STANDARD RESISTANCE (CHECK FOR SHORT) TABLE  .

    Standard resistance (Check for short)

TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM (CHECK FOR SHORT)

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    E4-35 (SLT+) - Body ground 10 k ohms or higher
    E4-34 (SLT-) - Body ground

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: REPLACE ECM

  3. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT
    1. Remove the shift solenoid valve SLT.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT  .

      Standard resistance

      SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT

Tester Connection Specified Condition 20°C (68°F)
      1 - 2 5.0 to 5.6 ohms

    3. Connect the positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the valve.

    OK:

The solenoid makes an operating sound.

NG: REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT

OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE
