DTC B2282 Vehicle Speed Signal Malfunction (Cable-Information does not Match to Bean-Information) ; DTC B2283 Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction: Wiring Diagram

HINT:

  1. CHECK OPERATION OF SPEEDOMETER 
    1. Drive the vehicle and check if the function of the speedometer in the combination meter is normal.

      OK: Actual vehicle speed and the speed indicated on the speedometer are the same. 

      HINT:

      The vehicle speed sensor is functioning normally when the indication on the speedometer is normal.

    NG : GO TO COMBINATION METER SYSTEM 

    OK : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PUSH-BUTTON FUNCTION) 
    1. Delete the DTC (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).

      HINT:

      After all DTCs are cleared, check if the trouble occurs again 320 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

    2. Check for DTCs again.

      OK: No DTC is output. 

    OK : CHECK INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    NG : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (BRAKE SYSTEM) 
    1. Delete the DTC (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).
    2. Check for the brake system DTCs C0200/31, C0205/32, C0210/33, C0215/34, C1235/35, C1236/36, C1238/38 and C1239/39.

      HINT:

      If the DTCs for the brake system or the vehicle speed sensor malfunction are output, inspect those DTCs first.

      With VDIM (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ) Without VDIM (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR )

      OK: No DTC is output. 

    NG : GO TO  BRAKE SYSTEM 

    OK : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (MULTIPLEX NETWORK COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN)) 
    1. Delete the DTC (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).
    2. Check for the multiplex network communication system DTCs B1210, B1214 and B1215.

      HINT:

      If the DTCs for the multiplex network communication system malfunction are output, inspect those DTCs first (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).

      OK: No DTC is output. 

    NG : GO TO  MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    OK : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  5. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL) 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DATA LIST.
    4. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the vehicle speed signal.

      Power source control ECU:

      VEHICLE SPD SIG Vehicle speed signal/ STOP or RUN STOP: Vehicle is stopped
      RUN: Vehicle is running
      -

      OK: STOP (vehicle is stopped) and RUN (vehicle is running) appear on the screen. 

    NG : Go to step 6 

    OK : REPLACE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU 

  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER) 
    1. Disconnect the J55 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the J34 meter connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      J55-19 (SPD) - J34-5 (+S) Below 1 Ω
      J55-19 (SPD) or J34-5 (+S) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK : REPLACE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU
