DTC P2102 Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit Low; DTC P2103 Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit High: Wiring Diagram

HINT:

  1. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY (RESISTANCE OF THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the E17 throttle body connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M+ (E17-2) - M- (E17-1) 20°C (68°F) 0.3 to 100 Ω

    3. Reconnect the throttle body connector.

    NG : REPLACE THROTTLE BODY 

    OK : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (THROTTLE CONTROL MOTOR - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the E17 throttle body connector.
    2. Disconnect the E3 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance (Check for open) 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      M+ (E17-2) - M+ (E3-2) Below 1 Ω
      M- (E17-1) - M- (E3-1) Below 1 Ω

      Standard resistance (Check for short) 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      M+ (E17-2) or M+ (E3-2) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      M- (E17-1) or M- (E3-1) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    4. Reconnect the throttle body connector.
    5. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY (VISUALLY CHECK THROTTLE VALVE) 
    1. Check for foreign objects between the throttle valve and the housing.

    NG : REMOVE FOREIGN OBJECT AND CLEAN THROTTLE BODY 

    OK : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  4. INSPECT THROTTLE VALVE 
    1. Check if the throttle valve opens and closes smoothly.

    NG : REPLACE THROTTLE BODY 

    OK : REPLACE ECM
