Extension Housing Rear Oil Seal: Removal

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 REAR FLOOR PANEL BRACE (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  2. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE OXYGEN SENSOR (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE OUTSIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE RH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR NO. 1 HEAT INSULATOR (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  8. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID 
    1. Remove the drain plug, the gasket, and drain the ATF.
    2. Install a new gasket and the drain plug.

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

  9. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using SST and a hammer, loosen the staked part of the nut.

      SST 09930-00010 

      HINT:

      Move the shift lever to the P position.

    2. Attach the SST.

      SST 09330-00021, 09950-30012 (09955-03040)

    3. Using SST and a 30 mm socket wrench, remove the nut.
    4. Remove the SST.
    5. Tap the output flange with a plastic hammer to remove it.

    6. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the automatic transmission flange yoke.

  10. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EXTENSION HOUSING OIL SEAL 
    1. Using SST, remove the oil seal.

      SST 09308-00010
