Brake Master Cylinder: Removal

  1. PRECAUTION 

    HINT:

    (See PRECAUTION )

  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (See Step 2 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE RH (See Step 3 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH (See Step 4 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH (See Step 5 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOLDING LH (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  8. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOLDING RH (See Step 7 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  9. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP (See Step 8 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  10. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH (See Step 9 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  11. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH (See Step 10 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  12. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See Step 11 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  13. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID 
    NOTE: If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, wash off or remove the brake fluid completely.
  14. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK 
    1. Remove the bolt, nut and No. 3 engine room relay block.
      NOTE: Cover the No. 3 engine room relay block with a shop rag or a piece of cloth to prevent brake fluid from getting on it.
  15. SEPARATE CLUTCH RESERVOIR HOSE (for Manual Transmission) 
    1. Remove the clip and separate the clutch reservoir hose.

  16. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUBASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the warning switch connector.
    2. Using SST, disconnect the 2 brake tubes from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.

      SST 09023-00101

    3. Remove the 2 nuts and separate the brake actuator assembly.

    4. Remove the 2 nuts and brake master cylinder subassembly from the brake booster assembly.
    5. Remove the O-ring from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.
