Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly With PRETENSIONER: Installation

1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY 
   1. Check the degree of tilt when the ELR begins to lock.
      1. Check that the belt does not lock at less than 15 degrees of tilt in any direction but locks at over 45 degrees of tilt while gently pulling the belt.
      NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.

   2. Temporarily install the front seat outer belt assembly with the 2 bolts.
   3. Fully tighten the upper side bolt first, then the lower side bolt to install the front seat outer belt assembly.

      Torque: For upper bolt 

      7.5 N*m (77 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf) 

      For lower bolt 

      42 N*m (428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf)

   4. Connect the pretensioner connector and lock the locking button.
      NOTE: Securely lock the locking button.
   5. Connect the connectors.

   6. Install the shoulder anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly with the nut.

   Torque: 42 N*m (428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf)

2. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR GARNISH (See Step 30 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
3. INSTALL LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH (See Step 32 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
4. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE (See Step 37 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
5. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE (w/o Illumination) (See Step 88 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/ Illumination) (See Step 90 in  INSTALLATION  ) 
7. CONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY 
   1. Install the floor end of the front seat outer belt assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 42 N*m (428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf) 

   2. Check if the ELR locks.

      NOTE: The check should be performed with the outer belt assembly installed.
      1. With the belt assembly installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.
8. INSTALL LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER 
   1. Engage the 3 claws to install the lap belt outer anchor cover.

9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    HINT:

    Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal. (See INITIALIZATION )

11. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 

Inspect the SRS warning light. (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM )
