Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Delete the DTC.
    2. Check for DTC.

      OK: DTC B1200 is not output. 

    NG: GO TO  MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to generate a control command, and check that the luggage compartment door lock motor operates.
    ITEM DIAGNOSTIC NOTE TABLE

    TRUNK/BDOR OPEN Operate luggage compartment door lock motor ON/OFF -

    OK: Luggage compartment door lock motor operates. 

    OK: Go to step   5 

    NG: Go to next Step. 

  3. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door lock.
    2. Move the door lock to the lock position.
    3. Apply battery voltage to the door lock motor and check operation of the door lock motor.

      OK: 

      LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 1
      Battery positive (-) --> Terminal 2
      Luggage compartment door lock motor unlock

    NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK - MAIN BODY ECU RH) 
    1. Disconnect the Q42 lock and J74 ECU connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK - MAIN BODY ECU RH  .
      LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK - MAIN BODY ECU RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q42-1 - J74-1 (TR+) Always Below 1 ohms
      Q42-1 - Body ground Always 10 k ohms or higher
      Q42-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  5. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER 
    1. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the turn the intelligent tester main switch on.
    3. Select TRNK/BDR OPN SW and TRNK MAIN SW in the DATA LIST and read the value display on the intelligent tester.

      ON: Luggage compartment door opener main switch is not pushed

      OK: ON (luggage compartment door opener inner switch is pressed) appears on the tester. 

      OK: ON (luggage compartment door opener main switch is pressed) appears on the tester.

      NG (Luggage compartment door opener inner switch) B
      OK (Luggage compartment door opener main switch and Luggage compartment door opener inner switch) C

    B: Go to step   8 

    C: REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH (MAIN BODY ECU RH) 

    A: Go to next step. 

  6. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SWITCH 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door opener main switch.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SWITCH  .
      LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SWITCH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Switch free (OFF) 10 k ohms or higher
      Switch pushed (ON) Below 1 ohms

    NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR MAIN OPENER SWITCH 

    OK: Go to next Step. 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SW - MAIN BODY ECU RH) 
    1. Install the luggage compartment door opener main switch.
    2. Disconnect the I57 switch and J75 ECU connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SW - MAIN BODY ECU RH  .
      LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SW - MAIN BODY ECU RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J57-2 - J75-2 (TSW) Always Below 1 ohms
      J57-2 - Body ground Always 10 k ohms or higher
      J57-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH (MAIN BODY ECU RH) 

  8. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER INNER SWITCH 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door opener inner switch.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER INNER SWITCH  .
      LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER INNER SWITCH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4 - 5 Switch free (OFF) 10 k ohms or higher
      Switch pushed (ON) Below 1 ohms

    NG: REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER INNER SWITCH 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR INNER OPENER SW - MAIN BODY ECU RH) 
    1. Install the luggage compartment door opener inner switch.
    2. Disconnect the J14 switch and J75 ECU connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR INNER OPENER SW - MAIN BODY ECU RH  .
      LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR INNER OPENER SW - MAIN BODY ECU RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J14-5 - J75-3 (TKUL) Always Below 1 ohms
      J14-5 - Body ground Always 10 k ohms or higher
      J14-4 - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH (MAIN BODY ECU RH)
