REAR PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4GR-FSE): Reassembly

1. INSTALL NO. 1 CENTER SUPPORT BEARING ASSEMBLY 
   1. Set the No. 1 center support bearing assembly and 2 center support bearing washers on the intermediate shaft assembly as shown in Fig 1.

      NOTE: Be sure to install the bearing in the correct direction.
   2. Align the matchmarks on the universal joint flange and intermediate shaft assembly, and place the universal joint flange on the intermediate shaft assembly.
   3. Install the intermediate shaft washer to the intermediate shaft assembly.
   4. Hold the intermediate shaft assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.

      NOTE: Do not overtighten the vise.
   5. Using SST to hold the universal joint flange, press the No. 1 center support bearing assembly into the position by tightening a new nut.

      SST 09330-00021 

      Torque: 182 N*m (1,850 kgf*cm, 134 ft.*lbf) 

   6. Loosen the nut.
   7. Tighten the nut again.

      Torque: 69 N*m (700 kgf*cm, 51 ft.*lbf)

   8. Using a chisel and a hammer, stake the nut.

2. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

1. Align the matchmarks on the intermediate shaft flange and the propeller shaft flange, and install the shaft with the 4 bolts, washers and nuts.

Torque: 74 N*m (750 kgf*cm, 54 ft.*lbf)
