FRONT BRAKE PAD, BRAKE CALIPER & BRAKE ROTOR (for 2GR-FSE): Removal
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
- DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
- Draw out fluid with a syringe.NOTE: If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, wash off or remove the brake fluid completely.
- Draw out fluid with a syringe.
- REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE WITH HOLE PIN
- Remove the clip.
- Remove the front disc brake anti-rattle with hole pin while pushing on the anti-rattle spring.
- REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-RATTLE SPRING NOTE: The anti-rattle spring and clip can be used again if they have sufficient rebound, no deformation, cracks or wear, and have had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off.
- REMOVE DISC BRAKE PAD AND ANTI-SQUEAL SHIMS
- Remove the 2 pads and the 2 anti-squeal shims from each pad.
- DISCONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE
- Remove the union bolt and gasket from the disc brake cylinder assembly, then disconnect the front flexible hose from the disc brake cylinder assembly.
- REMOVE DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 2 bolts and disc brake cylinder assembly from the knuckle.
