FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD): Installation

  1. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY FRONT 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the transfer companion flange and the front propeller shaft.
    2. Temporarily tighten the front propeller shaft with the 6 bolts and 2 universal joint washers.

      HINT:

      If reusing the bolts, apply engine oil to the bolt before use.

    3. Align the matchmarks on the differential companion flange and the front propeller shaft.

    4. Temporarily tighten the front propeller shaft with the 6 bolts and 2 universal joint washers.

      HINT:

      If reusing the bolts, apply engine oil to the bolt before use.

    5. Using a screwdriver or an equivalent, hold the transfer companion flange.
    6. Using a socket hexagon wrench 6 mm, fully tighten the front propeller shaft with the 6 bolts.

      Torque: 25 N*m (255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the front propeller shaft.

    7. Using a screwdriver or an equivalent, hold the transfer companion flange.
    8. Using a socket hexagon wrench 6 mm, fully tighten the front propeller shaft with the 6 bolts.

      Torque: 25 N*m (255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE: Be careful not to damage the front propeller shaft.
  2. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY FRONT  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. CHECK FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAKS
