Speed Sensor Rear LH (4WD): Replacement

HINT:

Replace the RH side by using the same procedures as those for the LH side.

1. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
2. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
3. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSY (See step 15 in  REPLACEMENT  ) 
4. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSY LH (See  OVERHAUL  ) 
5. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSY (See step 18 in  REPLACEMENT  ) 
6. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX FRONT (See step 19 in  REPLACEMENT  ) 
7. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX REAR (See step 20 in  REPLACEMENT  ) 
8. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSY NO. 2 (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
9. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSY NO. 3 (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
10. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
11. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
12. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (See step 26 in  REPLACEMENT  ) 
13. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE LH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
14. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM COVER LH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
15. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE COVER LH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
16. REMOVE ROPE HOOK (See step 33 in  REPLACEMENT  ) 
17. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSY LH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
18. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 
19. REMOVE SPEED SENSOR REAR LH 
    1. Disconnect the speed sensor connector.
       NOTE: Be careful not to damage the wire harness.

    2. Pull out the sensor wire harness with the grommet.
       NOTE: Do not pull sensor wire.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts holding the sensor harness from the body and the shock absorber assy.

    4. Remove the bolt and the speed sensor rear.
       NOTE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.

20. INSTALL SPEED SENSOR REAR LH 
    1. Install the speed sensor rear with the bolt.

       Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) 

       NOTE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.

    2. Install the sensor harness clamps with the 2 bolts to the body and the shock absorber assy.

       Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) 

       NOTE: Do not twist the sensor wire when installing the sensor.

    3. Push in the sensor wire harness with grommet.
       NOTE: When grommet is set to body, pull the grommet do not pull sensor wire.
    4. Connect the speed sensor connector.

21. INSTALL REAR WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N.m (1,050 kgf.cm, 76 ft.lbf) 

22. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSY LH 
23. INSTALL ROPE HOOK 
24. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE COVER LH 
25. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM COVER LH 
26. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE LH 
27. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 
28. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH 
29. INSTALL BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP 
30. INSTALL DECK BOARD SUB-ASSY NO. 3 
31. INSTALL DECK BOARD SUB-ASSY NO. 2 
32. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX REAR 
33. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX FRONT 
34. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER ASSY 
35. INSTALL REAR SEAT ASSY LH (See step 36 in  OVERHAUL  ) 
36. INSTALL DECK BOARD SUB-ASSY 
37. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
38. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 
39. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL (See  PRE-CHECK  )
