Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Check passenger's seat belt warning operation.
    1. Connect LEXUS hand-held tester to DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push LEXUS hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on LEXUS hand-held tester.
    4. Check that the front passenger's seat belt warning operation.
    1. OK: Go to step   5 
    2. NG: Go to step   2 . 
  2. INSPECT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LAMP ASSY 
    1. Check continuity.
    1. Disconnect the connector of telltale lamp assy.
    2. Check continuity between terminal 3 and 5 on the telltale lamp assy.

      OK: 

      Continuity

    1. NG: REPLACE PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LAMP ASSY 
    2. OK: GO TO STEP   3 . 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN BATTERY AND PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LAMP ASSY) 
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: GO TO STEP   4 . 
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LAMP ASSY AND COMBINATION METER ASSY) 
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY 
  5. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH 
    1. Check continuity.
    1. Disconnect the connector of front seat inner belt RH.
    2. Check continuity between terminal 2 and 5 when buckle switch condition as shown in the Fig 2.

      OK:

    1. NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY. 
    2. OK: GO TO STEP   6 . 
  6. INSPECT SEPARATE SEAT TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD (OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the separate type front seat cushion pad.
    2. Check continuity between terminal 1 and 2 when separate type front seat cushion pad condition as shown in the Fig 4.

    1. NG: REPLACE SEPARATE SEAT TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD 
    2. OK: GO TO STEP   7 . 
  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY AND FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH) 
    1. NG: CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER
