Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Check driver's seat belt warning operation.
    1. Connect LEXUS hand-held tester to DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push LEXUS hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on LEXUS hand-held tester.
    4. Check that the driver's seat belt warning operation.
    1. NG: CHECK AND REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    2. OK: GO TO STEP   2 . 
  2. READ VALUE OF LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Check output value of driver's side buckle switch.
    1. Connect LEXUS hand-held tester to DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push LEXUS hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the DATA LIST mode on LEXUS hand-held tester.
    4. Check that the driver's side buckle switch using DATA LIST.
    1. OK: Go to step   5 
    2. NG: Go to step   3 . 
  3. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH 
    1. Check continuity.
    1. Disconnect the connector of front seat belt inner belt LH.
    2. Check continuity between terminal 1 and 3 when buckle switch condition as shown in the Fig 1 .

      OK:

    1. NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH 
    2. OK: GO TO STEP   4 . 
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN FRONT SEAT INNER BELT AND DRIVER SIDE J/B ECU) 
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK 
  5. CHECK THAT MALFUNCTION DISAPPEARS A KNOWN GOOD COMBINATION METER IS INSTALLED 
    1. Check that malfunction disappears when a known good combination meter is installed.
