Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY LEXUS HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Check ODO/TRIP meter operation.
    1. Connect LEXUS hand-held tester to DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push LEXUS hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on LEXUS hand-held tester.
    4. Check that all segments of ODO/TRIP meter directs in the combination meter by LEXUS hand-held tester.

      OK: All segments direct normally. 

    1. NG: CHECK AND REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    2. OK: GO TO STEP   2 . 
  2. INSPECT TRIP SWITCH 
    1. Check continuity.
    1. Operate each switch and check continuity between the individual terminals of the connector as shown in Fig 1.

    1. NG: REPLACE TRIP SWITCH 
    2. OK: GO TO STEP   3 . 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BETWEEN TRIP SWITCH AND COMBINATION METER ASSY) 
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY
