Inspection Procedure

1. Check fuel receiver gauge operation.

1. Connect LEXUS hand-held tester to DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON and push LEXUS hand-held tester main switch ON.
3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on LEXUS hand-held tester.
4. Check that the probe moves as LEXUS hand-held tester directs in each range.

   OK: The meter operations normally. 

1. NG: CHECK AND REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY 
2. OK: GO TO STEP   2 . 

1. Check fuel sender gauge (main) resistance.

1. Remove the fuel sender gauge.
2. Measure resistance between terminals 2 and 3 of fuel sender gauge for each float position, as shown in Fig 1 .

1. NG: REPLACE FUEL SENDER GAGE ASSY 
2. OK: GO TO STEP   3 . 

1. Check fuel sender gauge (sub) resistance.

1. Remove the fuel sender gauge.
2. Measure resistance between terminals of fuel sender gauge for each float position, as shown in Fig 4 .
