Front Bumper (Exterior Body Panels): Replacement

HINT:

The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated.

1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER NO.1 
   1. Remove the 2 clips and 2 bolts.
   2. Remove the 2 screws and under cover.

2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSY LH 
   1. Remove the 2 screws and 2 clips.
   2. Partially remove the splash shield.

   HINT:

   Do not remove the splash shield completely but partially so that the bumper cover can be removed.

3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSY RH

   HINT:

   Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

4. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER 
   1. Put protective tape under the front fender.
   2. w/ Headlamp washer:
      1. Remove the washer hose clip.
      2. Using a screwdriver, pull out the front washer nozzle.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

   3. Disconnect the fog lamp connectors.
   4. Remove the 2 screws and 3 clips.
   5. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the bumper cover.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

5. REMOVE HEADLAMP WASHER ACTUATOR SUB-ASSY LH (W/ HEADLAMP CLEANER) 
   1. Remove the 2 screws and actuator.
6. REMOVE HEADLAMP WASHER ACTUATOR SUB-ASSY RH (W/ HEADLAMP CLEANER) 
   1. Remove the 2 screws and actuator.
7. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 
8. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT 
   1. Remove the 6 bolts and reinforcement.
9. REMOVE LASER RADAR SENSOR 
   1. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the wire harness clamp.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

   2. Disconnect the sensor connector.
   3. Remove the sensor.
10. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER STAY NO. 2 LH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and bumper stay.
11. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER STAY NO. 2 RH 
    1. Remove the 3 screws and bumper stay.
12. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION MOUNTING BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and mounting bracket.
13. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER GARNISH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts.
    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the 7 clips and bumper garnish.

    HINT:

    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

14. REMOVE FOG LAMP ASSY LH 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the fog lamp.

15. REMOVE FOG LAMP ASSY RH 
    1. Remove the nut and fog lamp.
16. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER HOLE COVER LH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the hole cover.

    HINT:

    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

17. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER HOLE COVER RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

18. REMOVE HEADLAMP MOUNTING BRACKET 
19. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT (a) Install the reinforcement with the 6 bolts. 

    Torque: 77 N.m (780 kgf.cm, 57 ft.lbf) 

20. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER 
    1. Install the bumper cover with the 2 screws and 3 clips.
    2. Connect the fog lamp connectors.
21. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSY LH 
    1. Install the splash shield with the 2 screws and 2 clips.

22. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSY RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
