Inspection Procedure

HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 if you are using the hand-held tester and start from step 2 if you are not using the hand-held tester.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Start the engine.
- Select the item "SLIP INDI LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the SLIP indicator light with the hand-held tester.
- Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the SLIP indicator light is shown on the combination meter by the hand-held tester.
- OK: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- NG: Go to next step
- INSPECT MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See
MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
)
- NG: REPAIR MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- OK
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - SKID CONTROL ECU)
- Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between terminals TRC+ and TRC- of the ECM and terminals TRC+ and TRC- of the skid control ECU (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: Go to next step

- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
- OK: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
