Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Start the inspection from step 1 if you are using the hand-held tester and start from step 2 if you are not using the hand-held tester.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)
1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
2. Start the engine.
3. Select the item "SLIP INDI LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the SLIP indicator light with the hand-held tester.
4. Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the SLIP indicator light is shown on the combination meter by the hand-held tester.
1. OK: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
2. NG: Go to next step
INSPECT MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (See MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM )
1. NG: REPAIR MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
2. OK
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - SKID CONTROL ECU)
1. Check for an open or short circuit in harness and connector between terminals TRC+ and TRC- of the ECM and terminals TRC+ and TRC- of the skid control ECU (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
2. OK: Go to next step
INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT) (See COMBINATION METER )
1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
2. OK: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
