Inspection Procedure

1. Check if the other DTCs are detected (See PRE-CHECK ).

1. YES REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE 
2. NO GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. NO CONNECT CONNECTOR TO ECU 
2. YES GO TO NEXT STEP 

IN CASE OF USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER: 

1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
2. Start the engine.
3. Select the DATA LIST mode on the hand-held tester.
4. Check the voltage condition, which is output from the ECU and displayed on the hand-held tester.

   OK: 

   "Normal" is displayed. 

IN CASE OF NOT USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER: 

1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Measure voltage between terminal IG1 and GND of the brake actuator harness side connector.

   OK: 

   Voltage: 10 to 14 V

1. OK: Go to step   6 
2. NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Check for open circuit in harness and connector between body ground and skid control ECU (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).

1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Check the battery positive voltage.

   OK: 

   Voltage: 10 to 14 V 

1. NG: INSPECT CHARGING SYSTEM 
2. OK: CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - IG1 TERMINAL) 

IN CASE OF USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER: 

1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
2. Start the engine.
3. Select the item "ABS WARN LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the ABS warning light with the hand-held tester.
4. Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the ABS warning light is shown on the combination meter by the hand-held tester.

IN CASE OF NOT USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER: 

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the connector from the skid control ECU.
2. Ground the WA terminal of the skid control ECU.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
4. Check the ABS warning light goes off.

1. NG: REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSY (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
2. OK: CHECK AND REPAIR ABS WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT
