Inspection Procedure

- CHECK DTC FOR VSC
- Check if the other DTCs are detected (See PRE-CHECK ).
- YES REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE
- NO GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR SECURELY CONNECTED
- NO CONNECT CONNECTOR TO ECU
- YES GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGE (IG1 TERMINAL)
IN CASE OF USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER:
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Start the engine.
- Select the DATA LIST mode on the hand-held tester.
- Check the voltage condition, which is output from the ECU displayed on the hand-held tester.
OK:
"Normal" is displayed.
IN CASE OF NOT USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER:
- Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Measure the voltage between terminal IG1 and GND of the brake actuator harness side connector.
OK:
Voltage: 10 to 14 V

- OK: Go to step 6
- NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND)
- Check for an open circuit in harness and connector between the body ground and skid control ECU (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (Skid control ECU - Body ground)
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT BATTERY
- Check the battery positive voltage.
OK:
Voltage: 10 to 14 V
- NG: INSPECT CHARGING SYSTEM
- OK: CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - SKID CONTROL ECU)
- Check the battery positive voltage.
- INSPECT VSC WARNING LIGHT
IN CASE OF USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER:
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Start the engine.
- Select the item "VSC WARN LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the VSC warning light on the hand-held tester.
- Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the VSC warning light can be shown on the combination meter on the hand-held tester.
IN CASE OF NOT USING THE HAND-HELD TESTER:
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the connector from the skid control ECU.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Check the VSC warning light goes off.
- NG: INSPECT CHARGING SYSTEM (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
- NG: CHECK AND REPAIR VSC WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT
