Rear Bumper (Exterior Body Panels): Replacement

HINT:

The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated.

1. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 
   1. Remove the 2 clips (A).
   2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws, 6 clips (B) and remove the finish plate.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

2. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX REAR (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
3. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
4. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
5. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL RH 
   1. Remove the clip, nut, bolt and side seal.
6. REMOVE FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE PROTECTOR 
   1. Remove the 2 clips, bolt and protector.
7. REMOVE REAR BUMPER COVER 
   1. Put protective tape under the quarter panel.
   2. Remove the 2 clips and 4 nuts.
   3. w/ Air suspension system: Remove the 6 screws.
   4. w/o Air suspension system: Remove the 4 screws.
   5. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 10 claws and remove the bumper cover.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

8. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 
9. REMOVE REAR BUMPER BAR 
10. REMOVE REAR BUMPER BAR LH 
11. REMOVE REAR BUMPER BAR RH 
12. REMOVE REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT NO.1 
    1. Remove the 6 nuts and reinforcement.
13. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH 
    1. Remove the screw and side support.
14. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORTER 
    1. Remove the screw and side support.
15. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and side retainer.
16. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and side retainer.
17. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSY LH 
    1. Remove the bolt and reflector.
18. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSY RH 
    1. Remove the bolt and reflector.
19. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT NO.1 
    1. Install the reinforcement with the 6 nuts.

       Torque: 27 N.m (275 kgf.cm, 20 ft.lbf) 

20. INSTALL REAR BUMPER COVER 

1. Engage the 10 claws and install the bumper cover.
2. w/ Air suspension system:

   Install the 6 screws.

3. w/o Air suspension system:

   Install the 4 screws.

4. Install the 2 clips and 4 nuts.
