Inspection Procedure

1. Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector of STP2 input circuit (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).

1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 

1. Check that the stop light lights up when brake pedal is depressed and turns OFF when the brake pedal is released.

1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSY OR HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 

1. Check continuity between each terminal of stop light operation relay.

   OK:

2. Apply battery voltage between terminal 1 and 2.
3. Check continuity between terminal 3 and 5 of stop light operation relay.

   OK: 

   Terminal 3 and 5 Continuity

   1. NG: REPLACE STOP LIGHT OPERATION RELAY 
   2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. 

Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector of STPO output circuit (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).

1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARBESS OR CONNECTOR 
2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
