Inspection Procedure
- CHECK THAT CENTER DIFFERENTIAL IS FREE AND CENTER DIFF. LOCK SWITCH IS OFF
- NG: REPAIR CENTER DIFF. LOCK SYSTEM
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- CHECK RECONFIRM DTC
- NO: NO PROBLEM
- YES: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- CHECK THAT BULB FOR CENTER DIFF. LOCK INDICATOR LIGHT IS NOT BURNT OUT
- YES: CHECK AND REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY
- NO: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(CENTER DIFF. LOCK SWITCH - SKID CONTROL ECU (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE
).
- Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between center diff. lock switch and skid control ECU (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
- NO: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)
- Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between skid control ECU and combination meter (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
- NO: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU TERMINAL VOLTAGE (EXI TERMINAL)

- Remove the skid control ECU with connector still connected.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Measure the voltage between terminal EXI of skid control ECU and body ground.
OK:
When center diff. lock: Below 2 V
When center diff. free: 8 - 14 V
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
- INSPECT CENTER DIFF. LOCK DETECTION SWITCH
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE CENTER DIFF. LOCK DETECTION SWITCH
- OK: GO TO NEXT STEP.
