Master Cylinder: Installation

  1. Adjust length of brake booster push rod. See POWER BRAKE UNIT PUSH ROD .
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts holding master cylinder, gasket and bracket to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Match paint lines on brake hoses and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Tighten reservoir assembly bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install reservoir hoses in line with paint marks.
  6. Fill brake reservoir with brake fluid and bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
  7. Check system for leaks and check and adjust brake pedal. See BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT & FREE PLAY .
