Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Start the inspection from step 1 in case of using the LEXUS hand-held tester and start from step  2 in case of not using the LEXUS hand-held tester.

  1. Check output value of the deceleration sensor. 

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON, and push the LEXUS hand-held tester main switch ON.
    3. Select the DATALIST mode on the LEXUS hand-held tester.

      CHECK: 

      Check that the deceleration value of the deceleration sensor displayed by the LEXUS hand-held tester is changing when tilting the vehicle.

      OK: 

      Deceleration value must be changing. 

    1. OK: Check and replace skid control ECU. 
    2. NG: Go to next step. 
  2. Check deceleration sensor (See  PRE-CHECK   ). 
    1. NG: Replace deceleration sensor. 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. Check for open or short circuit in harness and connector between deceleration sensor and skid control ECU (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
    1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector. 
    2. OK: Check and replace skid control ECU.
