Inspection Procedure

  1. Check brake actuator solenoid. 

    PREPARATION: 

    Disconnect the connector from brake actuator.

    CHECK: 

    Check continuity between terminal BS and terminals SFRH, SFLH, SRRH, SRLH SFRR, SFLR, SRRR and SRLR of brake actuator.

    OK: 

    Continuity 

    HINT:

    (Reference)

    Resistance of each solenoid

    SFRH, SFLH, SRRH, SRLH: 8.3 - 9.3 Ω

    SFRR, SFLR, SRRR, SRLR: 4.0 - 4.6 Ω

    CHECK: 

    Check continuity between terminals SM1+ - SM1-, and terminals SM2+ - SM2- of brake actuator.

    OK: 

    Continuity 

    HINT:

    (Reference)

    Resistance of each solenoid: 8.3 - 9.3 Ω

    CHECK: 

    Check continuity between terminal BS and terminals SRC1, SRC2, SRM1 and SRM2 of brake actuator.

    OK: 

    Continuity

    HINT:

    (Reference)

    SRC1,SRC2:8.1 - 9.1 Ω

    SRM1,SRM2:6.2 - 6.8 Ω

    1. NG: Replace brake actuator. 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  2. Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between skid control ECU and brake actuator (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
    1. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector. 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. Check voltage between terminal SR of skid control ECU and body ground. 

    PREPARATION: 

    Remove the skid control ECU with connectors still connected.

    CHECK: 

    Turn the ignition switch ON, measure between terminal SR and GND.

    OK: 

    Voltage: 1V or less 

    1. NG: Check and repair harness or ABS solenoid relay. 
    2. OK: If the same code is still output after the DTC is deleted, check the contact condition of each connection. If the connections are normal, the ECU may be defective.
