Bulb Circuit

NOTE: If not using the hand-held tester, begin with step  2.
  1. Perform the active test. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3. See Fig 1. Turn the ignition switch ON and the hand-held tester main switch ON. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester. Check that the light turns ON or OFF as the hand-held tester directs. All lights should flash except the shift indicator. If the light operates normally, perform the next test procedure of the problem symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEX  table. If the light does not operate normally, go to the next step.
  2. Check the bulb. Apply the tester as shown to test for continuity. See Fig 2. If there is continuity, go to the next step. If there is not continuity, replace the bulb.
  3. Check the circuit plate. See COMBINATION METER CIRCUIT PLATE . If the results are OK, check the combination meter, see COMBINATION METER CIRCUIT , and replace the combination meter. See INSTRUMENT PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the results are not good, replace the circuit plate. See COMBINATION METER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
